How to Cook Asparagus

#1 Boiled Asparagus

Ingredients

  • Stalk of asparagus
  • Frying pan
  • Enough water to cover asparagus
  • 1 teaspoon of salt
  • 1 teaspoon of black pepper

Preparation

Place the asparagus in pan and just barely cover with water.  Add salt and pepper.
Allow to boil for 5 minutes.
Turn off heat and remove from water.
Serve with a bit of butter and more salt to taste if desired.

#2 Sauted Asparagus with Parmesan

Ingredients

  • Stalk of asparagus
  • Frying pan
  • 1/4 cup of olive oil
  • 1 tablespoon of butter
  • 1 teaspoon of black pepper
  • 1/2 cup of Parmesan cheese

Preparation

Heat pan and add oil.  Place the asparagus in pan and saute for 3 minutes
Add butter and pepper and continue to saute for another 2 minute
Add Parmesan cheese over asparagus and reduce heat.
Turn off heat after 1 minute.

Serve and enjoy!  Delizioso!
